Annual Roos family Halloween party (Oct 22, 2011)

My Mom is the best! She loves her grand kids and it shows! Every year she throws them a Halloween party. She always arranges it so all her grand kids can be there (seeing how I don't get my kids every weekend, I appreciate her doing that for me). The food is good, the games are fun & the company is great! Dave played chess with my Dad. I think they came out 50/50.

I love my family. Each of them are special to me in their own special way! Thanks for the memories Mom!

New fan (Oct 16, 2011)

Out with the old (and ugly) and in with the new! I finally got my new fan for the kitchen! I love it! It looks so much better!

Oops, I can't find my pictures for the new one. I'll have to wait for Dave to get home & then I can update this with the new, prettier fan.

The funny thing about all this (I call it funny, Dave call's it irritating) is that although my new fan is pretty to look at, it is not very bright and therefore it makes it very hard to see anything in my kitchen. So, to compensate, I had to spent more money and buy a pretty stand up light so we could see. I'm happy with my stand up light too. I'll post a picture of that too, as soon as Dave is back.

Thank you Jason!! (Oct 15, 2011)

I am very grateful I have a talented step-son! Jason re-painted Kiersten's old room from pink to blue, so I could move Tyler over. Now that Kiersten is officially grown up and married with a family, we decided it was time to move Tyler to her old room, which free's up his old room to be the toy room for all our Grand kids.

Before, with the pink (this proves I love you Kiersten, I wouldn't choose pink on my own)

After, with Tyler's blue

Jason did a much better job than I could ever do! I feel I got really lucky, because we had enough extra paint, that Jason is now painting Tyler's old room for me! Tyler loves his new room. He was very gracious to switch for me. At first he wasn't sure, but I didn't want the toy room at the back of the basement down the hall. So thank you Tyler for moving for me! I'll post pictures of the next room when we're done.

Welcome Kanyon Lloyd Campbell (Sept 6, 2011)

Dave and I are so very excited for our newest grandson! Kanyon was determined not to flip, so he was born today by c-section at 11:56 am. He was 6 lbs 13 ounces and is 20.5 inches long. Kiersten did great and Keenan was a good sport by supporting Kiersten and not eating until she was able to eat! It is so much fun to see him and hold him after all these months of feeling him through Kiersten's belly. It's a good thing I get to hold him now, because that will make up for missing feeling him kick inside Kiersten (she was a very good sport and would let me poke her belly every time I saw her)!

Kiersten & Keenan's wedding (August 27, 2011)

We finally made it to the wedding! Great news, the baby did not come early! One of my most favorite memories of this wedding will be when Kiersten and Dave practiced their dance. It was so sweet and fun to watch them practice their dance together. I know it is hard for Dave to have his only daughter married, it was very emotional for him.

It was a great wedding! I got goose bumps as Kiersten & Dave walked down the aisle. It made me get teary eyed. We absolutely love Keenan and are happy to have him in our family!

We love you both and wish you all the happiness in the world as you start your new family.

First Day of School (Aug 22, 2011)

It's that time of year again! Except this time around, I have one in Junior High. I have been needlessly stressing over Jr High for years now. Much to my relief, it is nothing like I had feared it would be! Will absolutely loves Jr High! For the first week, he was waking up at 5:30 am because he was so excited for school!

Will had to beg me to let him get these neon shoes. I thought for sure kids would make fun of him for them, but nope, nobody cares. Will started the clarinet this year. He really wants to play the saxophone, but the teacher is requiring one year of clarinet first. He seems to enjoy it and is picking it up fairly fast. So far we have all straight A's. Good job Will!

Tyler is in 5th grade this year! This is his first year alone in elementary without Will. Tyler has his cousin Toby in his class again this year. That always makes me happy that Tyler has a good friend in his class with him. We are hoping for a good year!

Jason & Marcy Wedding (July 27, 2011)

Flood nightmare (July 25, 2011)

It all happened when Tyler went downstairs to watch a movie on the big screen. Somehow, it always makes me nervous when the boys say "Mom you need to come look at this." Nothing good has ever come after those words have been spoken to me from my kids. Tyler proceeded to show me how when he put his foot in front of the TV, it was covered with water! I quickly noticed all the carpet around the TV was drenched. Dave was at a bachelor party for his son Jason, playing pool, when I called and said "get home now, our basement is flooded." Bless his heart, he hurried and finished his round (which is great that he answered in the first place on my first time calling if he was in the middle of his turn) then left to hurry home. As a side note, Dave's boys said that his pool was much better when he was all of the sudden in stress and in a hurry.

Dave wanted to somehow salvage the completely drenched carpet. This is when you can tell your spouse truly knows you. It did not take long for my husband to access my mood and my opinion on saving the carpet. So, within min's my husband had a knife and was cutting the carpet into small sections so I could carry it outside to be trashed. It's surprising how heavy drench carpet truly is!

After price shopping, I have decided to hold off onto getting new carpet. Which is a bigger surprise to me than anybody. I have been dying to rip out and replace that old, yucky carpet. I hate berber carpet! But, my practical side won out and I think I'll hold off for a few months.

Washing my car (June 28, 2011)

Tyler had to wash my car for scouts. Will wanted to help out. I think they got more on each other than they actually got on my car!

Will mowing lawn for 1st time (June 23, 2011)

Will begged and begged for me to let him mow our lawn. It is now one of his weekly chores and I am wondering why I didn't agree to this sooner! Will enjoys it and my lawn gets mowed, its a win win situation!
