Welcome to our famly Christopher (July 22, 2010) at 3:09 am!

This was by far, one of the coolest nights of my life! Michelle gave me a gift I will probably never experience again, the gift of watching a new baby be brought into this world. It was a wonderful, amazing night! I was surprised by how emotional I felt watching my sister give birth to her son.

First off, Michelle was amazing! She hardly yelled or screamed at all. It all began by me getting a phone call at 1:00 am, telling me she was in labor and needed a ride to the hospital. That afternoon she had had a doctors appointment and was told she was only dilated to a 2.9. Michelle was frustrated, because she hadn't progressed any during the week. Her doctor stripped her membranes and we were joking around about how that was probably just something to make the women feel better and it probably didn't even really work. Now I can say I have changed my opinion and I am a true believer that it works!

Will was with me (Tyler was at his Dad's) and was all too excited to go sleepover at Bella's house. So after I dropped off Will and we gave some advice to Bella, we left for the hospital. I think this was the first (and most likely last) time that Michelle has ever told me to drive faster :) I was trying to drive good and not get her sick, like I tend to do when she drives with me. So I picked up the pace and even ran a red light on hwy 89 to get her to the hospital fast.

At the hospital, it was after hours so we had to get beeped in. I had to make a couple of trips from the car to the hospital. One trip was to get the wheelchair and one to get Michelle. It was kinda funny when I had Michelle in the wheelchair and went to get beeped in again and the lady asked what we wanted. Before I could respond, Michelle decided to respond for me and said "I want an epidural now."

Once I got Michelle settled and after I went back to get my car parked, I was shocked to be told that she was already dilated to a 9! She had gone from a 2.9 that afternoon to a 9, with only a little over an hour of contractions! The doctor gave her a choice. She could either have the baby right then, or put it off to get drugs. My sister said she wanted the drugs and the baby could wait! I called my parents again, only to find out that they were only on Legacy. I told Mom to tell Dad to step on it or she would miss the baby being born.

It took two tries for the drugs to work. Michelle was fun to listen to when she was telling them that the drugs didn't work the first time. It was almost like the doctor didn't believe her. All he had to do was look at her or listen to her tell him off and he should have been able to tell that it didn't work. I am not a doctor and even I could tell she was still in pain. A couple min's after he tried again, you could visible see the difference and you could also verbally hear a difference. Michelle started joking around, even though she acted a little out of it :)

Once Mom arrived, they let Michelle push the baby out. She only had to push 3 times and out he came. I stayed near Michelle's head and the doctor did a great job keeping her covered up. It was the most amazing thing to see Chris come out!!

He was all purple and not moving, so Michelle and I thought he was dead. The doctor didn't seem concerned, she would tickle his tummy and he would cry for a second then relax. I had no idea they came out so purple! It sure didn't take long though for him to change to a healthier color.

There are a lot of cool pictures I could post, but Michelle might kill me if I tried. Notice in this picture his umbilical cord. I got to cut it :) I was so excited when Michelle asked if I wanted to cut it! The doctor was really nice and even let Michelle and me touch it to see what it felt like. She showed us the veins in it and showed us the placenta! The doctor was really cool and funny. She didn't seem annoyed by all my questions and seemed to enjoy talking about it.

I left the hospital around 4 am. I still had to work that day and I decided not to bother to take a nap, seeing how it would only make me more tired. So I picked up Will and went straight to work. Bill picked up Will from work, which worked out well, because I spent a lot of time at the hospital with Michelle that afternoon and the next day and it was nice not having to worry about my boys and try to be with Michelle at the same time.

I had a great couple of days with Michelle. I took a ton of pictures for her and just enjoyed the moment with her. I brought her two oldest kids up to see her at the hospital. Taylor was so sweet, he really missed his Mom. He curled right up to her and wanted to know why she couldn't come home that same day. The next day I had the honor of driving Michelle and the baby home. Michelle had her knees jammed into my dashboard with the car seat behind her, but it was fun for me!

Michelle, thank you for that wonderful experience! I will never forget it. I love you and think you are a wonderful Mom! Your children are very lucky to have you. I know you have a rough road ahead of you for now, but I will be by your side every single step of the way.

Kaylyn baby shower (July 17, 2010)

I had a lot of fun shopping for my Granddaughter! With having two boys, this was my first chance to buy pretty dresses! I don't even care that they are impractical (dry clean only for a 12 month old), they were so pretty and fun to buy! I made a little Sunday church dress for my Granddaughter, I hope she likes it. I can not wait to hold her! The day I am blogging this is almost the 7th. Kaylyn is planning on being induced on the 10th, so I only have a couple of days to go until Mariana is here!

Old couch vs New couch (July 13, 2010)

My husband David is a good sport. I gave him about a week's notice that our old, ugly couch had to go. This happened a week before I had Kaylyn's baby shower at my house. I will admit it, I was a bit embarrassed by the ugly couch. We have a nice couch in the front room and this monster was in our kitchen. Seeing how everybody at the baby shower would have to go to the kitchen for food, I took this opportunity to replace the couch. I LOVE my new couch! It is so comfortable and looks really good! We got a great deal on it too, which never hurts!

Will's boy scout campout (July 9, 2010)

It amazes me how fast my William is growing up! I am proud of the young man he is turning into! This is Will's first boyscout camp out! He had a great time! I hope he learns to love camping as much as I love it!

Grandpa Roos (July 4, 2010 & Dec 30, 2009)

My Grandpa Charlie Roos died before I started blogging. I decided to go back and add some of his funeral pictures. I love my Grandpa. I miss my Grandma and Grandpa very much. I am happy they are finally together again. My Dad gave a really good talk at my Grandpa's funeral. My Dad is a very good speaker. He didn't write anything down, he gave his talk completely off memory! He had us all moved by the time he was done.
When we went up to Idaho Falls for the fireworks this summer and stopped by his graveside. They placed a new tombstone on his grave, to commemorate my Grandpa serving in World War II.

July 3rd Fireworks - Idaho Falls

Will, Tyler and Kiersten all shared the backseat on our way to Idaho Falls to see the fireworks. Tyler was fun in the car. We weren't even past Willard Bay and Tyler was asking if we were there yet! Good thing we were only going to Idaho and not California!

My Uncle Raeo and his wife Cheryl were really nice and invited to us to have dinner with his family before the fireworks. It was really nice to see my Uncle and his family again. They made us feel real welcome. Jon and Kaylyn drove as well to see the show. Their hotel was right next to ours. The fireworks there are rated the best fireworks west of the Mississippi, so hotel rooms were scarce.

My cousin Cami and her husband Scott

I feel kinda bad for my family. I was a little grumpy and moody (woman hormones hard at work). We left the hotel room at what I thought was too late of a time to find a good spot. We left with less than an hour to the firework show. We sat down next to the snake river, across from the temple, with everybody else. Well, the pine trees blocked most of the view of the fireworks! I couldn't see a thing! Dave didn't think it was that bad, but then again, he is a very positive person. If I can talk him into going again next year, we are going to pick a better spot!

Yea! I have lost 20 pounds (July 3, 2010)

I am finally happy with how I look! It has taken some years to hit that milestone. It's almost funny, because once I found the right way to do it, it wasn't anywhere near as hard as the other stuff I've tried. So I guess I will make my husband happy and I will get rid of my cute monkey picture for my profile. I wonder how many people will notice the difference?

Eclipse movie (June 30, 2010) Kim, Michelle & Becca

After months and months of waiting, we finally got to see our much anticipated movie. Ignore the picture, I look like crap. But in my defense, it was like 3 am in the morning. Becca was good enough to get our tickets for us. I was supposed to be the one to stay awake till midnight to pre-purchase our tickets. Well, that was a dumb plan (it was my plan)! I get up for work at 5 am, so I slept right through my 12 am alarm and missed it. Good thing Becca is a night owl and she got our tickets. I have had a lot of fun going to the "New Moon" and "Eclipse" midnight movies with my sisters. These are probably the only movies I am willing to stay up late for to go see at midnight. The energy at the theater is fun. You have a ton of screaming girls, who are excited to see the movie. It's very different from just going to the movies. I'm grateful for these memories with my sisters. Michelle was extremely pregnant when we went to see this movie. She only had about 4 weeks left until her due date. So she was a good sport to go. I think I got her a little sick on the drive there and the drive home. Sorry Michelle, believe it or not, that was me trying to drive good for you!

Starcraft (June 6, 2010)

I love to watch my boys play starcraft together! They all get on their own computer to play. Afterwords they gather at Dad's computer to watch a replay of the game. Dave is really good with the boys. He shows them what they did that was good and what they should have done. It is very heartwarming for me to hear them giggling and getting all excited while discussing the game! It is one of my favorite things.
